Vendor-neutral, public sources only
The analysis here is independent. No manufacturer or distributor decides what gets covered, which replacement candidates get named, or how a comparison comes out. Every technical claim traces to a named public source: a manufacturer datasheet or product-change notice, a distributor lifecycle page, or a governing standards body.
How the Brief is funded, honestly
Every publication needs funding to keep going, and pretending otherwise would not survive long-term scrutiny. So this is said plainly: the Brief is open to reader support, sponsorship, and affiliate links, and any of these may appear over time.
When they do, two things hold. They are clearly labeled, and they never buy a placement, a named replacement candidate, or the outcome of a comparison. Support keeps the Brief running. It does not change the engineering, and it does not change the verdict.
What the alternates are, and are not
Suggested alternates are candidates to validate in your own system. They are never presented as drop-in, equivalent, or pound-for-pound replacements. Form, fit and function is a property of your system, not something this or any cross-reference can certify for you.
